Why You’ll Want to Keep this Patch Handy for Eczema Flare-Ups
By Danielle McAdams | Dec. 25, 2021
If you’re like me, you know the frustration of scratching your eczema inflamed skin during a flare-up, which can lead to broken skin, bleeding, and inflection. Although you know you shouldn’t be scratching, it can be difficult to stop that eczema itch, especially when you sleep. Unfortunately, scratching inevitably prolongs the recovery process and can increase scarring.
I am so grateful to have discovered Umbrella Eczema’s unique eczema patch! It has helped protect my skin from scratching while providing a soothing, breathable hydrogel barrier that moisturizes my skin while it recovers from an eczema flareup.
After digging deeper into the product, I discovered that the patch is comprised of a hydrogel, which I learned was used in many medical grade wound dressings because of hydrogel's soft consistency and because it can mimic natural living tissue.
The hydrogel felt very soothing on my skin and I felt like it kept the area moist throughout the day. The patch was easy to use as it was slightly adhesive. I love using it at night as well because it remains on my skin throughout the night and prevents me from scratching.
I was also impressed by the ingredients contained in the patch, which includes oatmeal, aloe and hyaluronic acid. I’ve always known that oatmeal is good for eczema because it helps create a protective barrier and moisturize skin. In fact, I frequently take baths with oatmeal powder to moisturize my skin. So I love that this patch contains oatmeal!
I also love that this product is hypoallergenic and manufactured in the USA. This product has worked for me and I hope you’ll give it a try in case it helps you during your next flareup.
